A Week of Meaningful Connections
Walking through Olympia London, surrounded by publishers, agents, rights teams, and creatives from across the world, the energy at LBF 2026 was tangible. For independent publishers like Arrow Gate, the fair represents more than just business meetings and rights deals. It is a chance to feel part of a wider community, a reminder that independent voices matter in today’s complex publishing ecosystem.
This year, Arrow Gate had the privilege of connecting with colleagues across the industry, each conversation affirming our commitment to producing meaningful, quality work as an independent publisher.
A Conversation That Meant Everything

One of the most memorable moments of our time at LBF 2026 was sitting down with Amanda Ridout, CEO of Boldwood Books, one of the publishing industry’s fastest-growing companies. Her organisation’s trajectory has been extraordinary, and what struck us most was not just her success but her willingness to share it.
Amanda took time from an undoubtedly packed schedule to meet with us, offering candid, thoughtful advice on how independent publishers can scale sustainably and build the kind of momentum her company has achieved. Her generosity of spirit was genuinely moving. In an industry that can sometimes feel competitive and guarded, she was warm, open, and encouraging, and we left that conversation with renewed energy and a clearer sense of direction.
We are deeply grateful for her time and her belief in what independent publishers can accomplish.
The Inpress Books Team: Advocates for the Independent Voice
No conversation about the independent publishing landscape would be complete without acknowledging the work of the InpressBooks team. At LBF 2026, our time with the Inpress colleagues once again underscored just how vital their work is.
Inpress exists to champion independent publishers, helping them reach readers, navigate distribution, and compete in a market that increasingly favours large conglomerates. Their dedication to fostering a diverse, thriving publishing ecosystem is something Arrow Gate is proud to be part of. In difficult economic conditions, with rising print costs and shifting retail landscapes, the work Inpress does is not just helpful, it is essential.
Our Team: The Heartbeat of Arrow Gate
Behind every handshake and every conversation at LBF 2026 was the Arrow Gate marketing and publishing team. Their hard work in preparing for, attending, and representing ARG at the fair was exceptional. From scheduling meetings to building new relationships on the floor, they showed up with professionalism, enthusiasm, and genuine passion for what we do.
The London Book Fair only works when your team does, and ours absolutely delivered.
Looking Ahead to LBF 2026

As the fair draws to a close, we find ourselves not tired, but energised. Arrow Gate leaves LBF 2026 with new friendships, fresh perspectives, and a strengthened sense of purpose. Independent publishing faces real challenges, but events like the London Book Fair remind us that the community around us is strong, generous, and deeply committed to the craft.
We are already looking forward to what next year will bring. See you at LBF 2026.
